Metrocal Appraisal is a Real Estate Appraisal and Consulting Firm. We provide our clients with analysis, valuations, and recommendations regarding their real estate holdings or potential real estate investment opportunities. Our expertise includes residential and commercial property types and our geographic footprint includes the Greater San Francisco Bay Area and the Central Valley region from the Sacramento area to the City of Modesto. We have been in operation since 1992 and our clients are investors, federally regulated banks and credit unions, attorneys, accountants, and private parties.
Biography
Metrocal Appraisal
Metrocal Appraisal originally started as DSX Appraisal Services, Inc., in 1992 in Los Angeles, CA. The company then relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1994 and has been located in the Tri-Valley (Dublin-Livermore-Pleasanton) area ever since. At the height of the mortgage finance market, Metrocal Appraisal operated from its Pleasanton location for the Northern California market and had a satellite office in Pasadena, Ca, for the Southern California market. Since 2008, Metrocal has widened its strategic focus to include specialization in the non-mortgage finance market.
Today, located in Dublin, California, Metrocal Appraisal serves a wide range of clients in the mortgage and non-mortgage market segment. We take particular pride in our outreach to the general public in delivering consumer-friendly products and services that are designed to provide meaningful solutions in a manner that is easily understood and with limited technical jargon.
Denis A. DeSaix - Metrocal Appraisal Founder
Denis DeSaix is a Certified Residential Appraiser with over 18 years of real property valuation and consulting experience. Mr. DeSaix’s areas of expertise include complex residential and commercial properties, mortgage and forensic review work for attorneys and lenders, and estate and portfolio valuation for accountants and the general public. Mr. DeSaix has been qualified as an expert witness for litigation and has testified on valuation issues in court. Mr. DeSaix earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and graduated with honors from the University of Phoenix, is a member of the Appraisal Institute ® (non-designated member), and is currently on a dual-track candidacy for his SRA and MAI designations. Mr. DeSaix is a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
Metrocal Appraisal’s Strategic Alliance with Real Property Valuation Services (RPVS)
Metrocal Appraisal is proud to have established a strategic alliance with RPVS and its founder, Mr. Juan Laos, SRA (Appraisal Institute® Designated Member). Mr. Laos has over 20-years commercial and residential experience in the Bay Area. Mr. Laos specializes in complex commercial properties and partial interests valuations.
What is the SRA Designation?
The SRA professional membership designation is awarded by the Appraisal Institute and held by real estate solutions providers who are experienced in the analysis and valuation of residential real property.
The current requirements for the SRA designation are:
- Pass rigorous education requirements
- Submit residential experience which must meet strict criteria
- Receive credit for a demonstration appraisal report
- Conduct his or her professional activities in accordance with the Appraisal Institute’s Code of Professional Ethics and are subject to a peer review process, which enforces the Code of Professional Ethics
